to my sensory mama,

i smell your cup of coffee once hot now cold

from the busy day that's about to unfold

i taste your salty sweat on your sun kissed cheeks

from my playful energy in hide and seek

i see the worry in your eyes

about my safety and my seemingly unprovoked cries

i hear the crack in your firm voice

about my dismay from lack of choice

i feel your heartbeat through your chest

from my cuddles and sleepless rest

all these senses push things in high gear overload

not just for you but me too, if truth be told

but again night falls, we are in this together that is for certain

unconditional love and dedication as we drop the curtain
